Looks Post - Week of Mar 26 - Rainforest

We are choosing a prompt a week; a creative way of coming up with new make-up looks so we don't get bored. These prompts can be a word, a picture, theme, color or pretty much anything we think might be inspirational.

We will post a new prompt every Sunday. We (and you) have all week to create something fun then we'll post a new blog entry with our looks at the end of the week. Join us by creating your own look(s) and linking us to it in the comments of our weekly "Looks" post. You can either post it to your own blog or upload to a photo sharing site (such as photobucket).

My inspiration for this look was a brightly colored bird flying out of the rainforest canopy. The green on the lid represented the different leaf colors and the crease was the bird. These photos were taken at the end of a long day and the look was a bit 'worn' by this point, but I was too damn lazy to spruce it up! Oh and sorry this late. I'd like to blame blogger for eating part of my post, but it was probably all me. ;p ~v_t

Had a hard time getting pictures on this day. It was cloudy in the morning and then by afternoon, the position of the sun that had finally came out made for odd angles with my camera and office window.

As usual, I waited til the last minute and threw something together...I've got to start planning better! It didn't help that I had no intention of even putting on makeup today until I remembered that I hadn't done this look yet, so then I just did my eyes with no planning at all. And actually, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, although I must admit that my inner Auburn girl had a teensy bit of influence.

That said, ignore everything except the eyeshadow...I did that, slapped a little concealer under my eyes, added some mascara, and that was that.

What I Used:
Face: N/A
Eye Base: Benefit's Lemon-Aid

The only shadows I used were from my huge ELF palette, so they don't have names. I included a picture with them marked and numbered, so that at least gives an idea of what I was thinking.

Lid: All over: light orange color (#1); bottom lid: darker orange color (#2)
Crease: Dark turquoise color (#4), with light turquoise (#3) edged along the top
Highlight: Goldenrod color (#5), blended with silvery lavender (#6)
Lashes: Buxom mascara in Black
Liners: Top: light turquoise (#3), done in a much wider swipe than normal; bottom: dark turquoise (#4), done in several layers to darken the color
Lips: N/A
